The story of WinScan began in 1989, when Antoon created one of the very first barcode-based systems designed specifically for packhouses. His vision was simple but powerful: give packhouses the tools to improve efficiency, ensure traceability, and compete on the world stage.
For over three decades, WinScan became a trusted partner in citrus, avocado, grape, and mango packhouses across South Africa. It helped growers and exporters streamline operations, reduce errors, and stay compliant with international standards.
In 2020, Antoon sadly passed away. His contribution to the fresh-produce industry left a lasting mark, and at Winpac we are committed to keeping his legacy alive by building on the foundation he created.
In 2025, S&J Labels acquired WinScan, bringing renewed energy and investment into its future. Our mission now is clear: to make WinScan the number one software used in packhouses, delivering reliable real-time data, actionable insights, and the tools packhouses need to succeed in an increasingly competitive export market.
At Winpac, we don’t just provide software — we carry forward a legacy of innovation, reliability, and partnership with packhouses.
